Six people were injured in a two car collision at the intersection of highway 11 and Main Street near a Shell station at 1 30 p m yesterday One man Norman Johnson of Darlington was hospitalized at St Clare in Monroe He was a rear seat passenger in a car driven by Milford Homb of Shullsburg Injuries included a deep cut over the nose head bruises back muscle injuries and other injuries Also injured were Milford Homb with a crushed chest and broken ribs Mrs Homb with concussions Lillian Larson of Darlington with a fractured left shoulder blade jaw injuries and a bruised left foot Roscoe Heimann of Brodhead the other driver suffered a fracture of the upper left arm James Williams a passenger with Heimann had cuts to face and forehead Rodney Ehlert another rider with Heimann was uninjured The crash occurred during a heavy rain Three people were treated at St Clare hospital from another weekend accident Mr and Mrs Clarence Ivers and son Douglas 5 of Peoria Ill treated and discharged They were involved in a head on collision on highway 69 north of Monroe near Round Grove school with Duane Wyss of Monroe at 10 45 p m Saturday Wyss had a forehead cut and knee bruises His passengers Charles Kummer and Robert Bayerhoffer were uninjured Mrs Ivers had facial cuts and a bruised knee.

A 100 car Milwaukee Road freight derailed at Wisconsin Avenue in New Holstein with three tank cars burning. Twenty three cars derailed as the diesel train 69 from Milwaukee to Green Bay spilled at a switch due to dragging equipment. The derailed trucks caused track destruction but no injuries were reported.
