Five weekend crashes investigated by Green County sheriff deputies damaged a patrol car driven by Deputy Howard Melvin Schucht and the Swiss Wheel Motel office. Chesser M. Campbell 62, president of the Tribune Co and publisher of the Chicago Tribune, died in his sleep while on a fishing vacation in Baie Comeau Quebec. Death is tentatively attributed to a heart attack. Campbell, a native of Sault Ste Marie Michigan, rose from subscription salesman to leadership at the Chicago paper.

Methodists Name Appleton Pastor Bishop of Wisconsin
Dr. Ralph T. Alton of Appleton was consecrated as the new Methodist bishop of Wisconsin during the North Central Jurisdictional Conference. Two 24th Units May Go to Congo
The Pentagon announced two companies of the U S 24th Infantry Division stationed in Germany were ordered on alert to evacuate Americans from the mutiny torn Congo if needed. About 200 men per company are assembled at Furstenfeldbruck with C130 transports ready to fly to Africa. The 24th Division was active during the Lebanon crisis two years ago.

Seven year old Rodger Woodward rode a motorboat that capsized above Horseshoe Falls and plunged 161 feet. His sister Deanne, 17, was rescued by two tourists. boat owner James Honeycutt, 40, is missing. Rodger surfaced in a 180 foot plunge pool and survived wearing a life jacket.

Benkerts Win Top Auto Award at Lake Forest Show
Mr. and Mrs. Joseph J. Benkert won the special jubilee award with their 1935 Chrysler Airflow at the Lake Forest Invitational. They placed first in the 1935 model division earning a plaque from the Illinois Region Antique Automobile Club of America as 130 cars competed in observance of America's 25th anniversary. The car was renovated by Benkert after purchase in Mt. Horeb and was the only entry from the Yester-Year Auto Club of Monroe, with companions Mr. and Mrs. Sherman G. Hodgson of Monroe.
