They forced assistant manager Mike Lieberman at gunpoint to reveal the safe combination, bound him, then fled in a 1959 blue Chevrolet with Illinois plates after breaking into a lodge safe. Night clerk John Kowalski witnessed the raid as the bandits opened one safe and forced the other.
