Windy Acres Resort Expands Under Eiserman Krieger Ownership
Windy Acres, five miles southeast of Monroe, grew since 1961 under John Eiserman and James Krieger. They added a public pool, remodeled dining room, opened a cocktail lounge, and built a driving range drawing golfers from Monroe and northern Illinois. The brothers-in-law now have 18 children and run a popular rural retreat attracting families and visitors seeking outdoor leisure.

Green County Fair to Present Spot Young Trophy in Harness Events
A memorial trophy honoring Ray Arthur Spot Young will be awarded to the 3-year-old trot winner at the Green County Fair harness program on Sunday August 1.
