Green County backs state park plan from Brodhead to New Glarus
A public hearing on a proposed state park trail along the Milwaukee Road right of way drew a 100 to 9 vote in favor. The plan ties the Albany Monticello route to New Glarus for hiking and snowmobiling, with DNR to study purchase and develop a 70,000 dollar project costing about 7,000 annually to operate. Local officials and residents from Green County backed the proposal, while concerns about financing and tax impacts were raised.
