Walter Abel Reveals Stauffacher Relation On TV Show
The Monroe TV mystery was solved when Walter Abel the stage star guest on "Its News to Me" identified his connection to the Stauffacher family as the late Mrs. Frank L. Stauffacher cousin. Abel and his wife visited in August 1950 for Cheese Day events and toured the Stauffer farm and cheese factory in Sylvester.

Appleton Man Pleads Guilty in Laona Bank Robbery
Albert C. Small 30 of Appleton reversed a not guilty plea and pleaded guilty to participating in the Laona bank robbery on October 19. Judge Tehan set a pre sentence investigation and allowed witnesses including Charles French Jr. and Mrs Esther Whitin g to testify. The case involved a $11 680 haul. French led the heist with his sister Patsy and accomplice Wilford Smith.

Two Juda youths, John W. Larson age 16 and Willis D. Newcomer age 20, were arrested after a chase from Monroe. They were fined 50 dollars plus costs for speeding within the city and 35 dollars plus costs for state warrants. cars allegedly reached 90 to 100 mph after entering Juda. Dr. Melvin W. Stuessy was fined 15 dollars plus costs for traveling up to 90 mph on 13th street. Justice L A Koenig said he will recommend suspending the drivers’ licenses to the state motor vehicle department.

Kenosha deputy Eugene Schend testified he collected funds from taverns for Sheriff Leonard Jensen before and after the 1948 election.
