Union Rejected as Charges Filed After County Vote

The Green County Court House and Age Extension Offices workers rejected Teamsters Union No. 579 by 7 to 4 with one abstention. Leonard Schoonover said charges were filed with the Wisconsin Employment Relations Commission alleging unfair labor practices and the discharge of an employee for union ties. The union claims county misconduct affected the vote outcome.

Snowdrifts Drift Across Green County After Snow Storm

A heavy three inch snowfall blanketed Green County during the supper hour Tuesday with continued light snow into Friday morning. Sub-zero conditions eased briefly as sun appeared by 10 30 a m. Winds remained strong at night causing drifting and poor visibility. County plows and city crews were active clearing intersections and treating roads as packed snow created slick driving conditions.

Prospective aldermen may file for the April 6 election in wards two four six and eight. Incumbent Wesley L. Dodge retires from ward eight with Jerry I. Coplien unopposed to succeed him. John P. Rehearing Granted On Brodhead Street Crossing Plan

The Wisconsin Public Service Commission grants a rehearing for Brodhead to extend Street across the Chicago Milwaukee St Paul and Pacific Railroad right of way.
