In New York a 21 year old leader George Leggett formed a 10 youth gang to rob the Chase Manhattan Bank branch in Kew Gardens Queens to fund a Nordic supremacist upstate camp. Police say two teens disclosed the plot leading to arrests of Leggett and four others. four more youths were booked. They stored weapons and anti Nazi materials. two escapees warned others to join.

School Bus Driver Saves 35 in Mishap at Rail Crossing
Perry Ark a driver of a bus with 35 students chose to plunge down a 16 foot embankment to avoid a train. Five students and a coach were injured none seriously. Charlie Upton said his lights showed freight cars approaching as brakes failed and he swerved to miss the crossing.
