Darlington Man Killed in Mishap
Alfred Mueller a 35 year old farmer of Darlington died when his truck left a town road near Highway 81 four miles east of Darlington. The truck overturned after mounting a roadside bank and Mueller was found beneath it by Walter Leu. Funeral plans are pending. This was Lafayette county's first 1964 traffic fatality.

An eight pound fourteen ounce baby girl was born at 9 30 p m in near freezing conditions between a Mt Horeb home and a hospital. An 80 year old grandmother with failing sight helped deliver the child assisted by the Milestones and Mrs Edith Cline Madison. Mother and baby were in good condition at St Clare hospital after the dramatic birth.

Menominee Student Gets 90 Day Term For Teacher Attack
Theodore Gilbert an 18 year old Menominee high school student was sentenced to 90 days in jail after pleading guilty to assault and battery in a classroom fight with teacher Algernon Scharer over course reassignment. Gilbert fled the school then surrendered to police. Scharer suffered a brain concussion head bruises and back injuries.
