Braniff International Airways president Thomas Braniff and Texas Eastern Gas president R H Hargrove died when their private seaplane crashed near Wallace Lake in Louisiana after icing formed on the wings. Ten other hunting companions and two pilots perished. six survivors arrived in Shreveport. The plane struck an unoccupied house and burned for over two hours.
