Mrs Iva M Denny 67 of 1525 6th avenue died last evening at 11 15 at her home from a cerebral hemorrhage after a stroke in November She was born April 1 1882 in Monticello daughter of Volney and Della Morton and educated in Monroe She taught rural schools and married Oscar Denny July 21 1908 In Monroe she worked at Young and Co grocery and for about 20 years served as district representative for Equitable Reserve Association She was a Townsend club president in 1942 and a Christian church Twin Grove member Surviving are her husband a son Werley M Tenny Monroe her mother Mrs Della Morton Monroe and four grandchildren The body remained at Shriner Neushwander funeral home then to Emmanuel church services Friday at 2 p m with Rev Homer Re zlaff and Rev Howard L Orians officiating burial in Greenwood

The board of education voted to call a special Union school district meeting in February to seek bonds for the first half of a proposed building program adding classrooms at South and East schools. Elevations show brick additions attached to existing structures, with South adding two classrooms and a kindergarten plus a large lower level room, and East adding two classrooms a kindergarten and an all purpose room.
