A three year old girl, Michele Mary Listle of Fredonia, died after a car driven by her mother skidded off a county road in Trenton and crashed into a tree. The mother Martene and five year old brother Roger survived with minor injuries, as Wisconsin's 1966 highway death toll rose to 13.

Fire departments respond to blaze at William Grant farm
Monroe firemen were called to the William Grant farm on Route 1 near Monroe to extinguish a corn drying fire around 9 15 last night. Fire crews remained about an hour to prevent spread and assess damage, which was not yet estimated. Firemen attributed the ignition to gas in the drying operation.
