Two-car collision harms Brodhead driver on County Trunk T
Deputies report two crashes in Green County since Friday. A serious wreck one mile south of Brodhead on County Trunk T involved David J. Smith 22 of Brodhead and Lyle R. Pietsch Jr. 23 of Hillside Illinois with heavy damage to both cars. A second crash four miles south of Juda on Corn Trunk S involved Marvin E. Bear 21 Route 1 Monroe whose car left the road after hitting a rock in the ditch.

Pilots Plan Rides To Aid Dimes Drive
Green County Pilots Association sponsors a Penny-a-Pound Airlift to support the March of Dimes. Rides run Saturday noon to dusk and Sunday all day, weather permitting. Last year 14 planes ferried 1,200 riders over the city, with more events planned in January.

Mrs R J Heeren Taken by Death After 25 Years in Monroe
Mrs Roy J Heeren aged 67 died New Year's morning ten minutes after admission to St Clare Hospital Monroe. She suffered a heart attack at home on Country Lane and died at 6 30 a m. Born Viola Nancy Hutmacher December 22 1898 in Freeport she was active in Immanuel EUB Church serving as financial secretary for five years and belonged to several groups. Surviving are her husband Donald and a son in Denver Colorado. She had worked 15 years as a bank bookkeeper and married Memorial Day 1940 in Freeport.

He was born November 23 1900 in Wintersengen Switzerland and lived in Darlington and Monroe, Wisconsin. Surviving are his wife Charlotte Hediger Kampfer three sons Hans James Calvin two daughters Frieda Indergaard Rosemary Pagel and Ruth Wells eleven grandchildren and siblings in Switzerland. Funeral services are tentatively planned for Thursday at St Johns United Church of Christ Monroe with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Shriner Neushwander Funeral Home is in charge.
