St John's to Bid Farewell to Rev Olm and Mrs Olm
A farewell reception for Rev. and Mrs. Paul H. Olm will be held in St. John's United Church of Christ in Monroe after Sunday services on April 12. Dr. Wilfred Evans of Sheboygan is expected to assist during services and attend the reception while meeting the congregation. Evans, former pastor of Sheboygan's Congregational church for 34 years, will serve as interim pastor until a new senior minister is chosen. Firemen Extinguish Grass Blaze Near City
Monroe firemen were called to the Daniel Brennan estate south of Oaktron Industries in Clarno Township to extinguish a grass fire shortly after noon today. Frederick Lanz, assistant fire chief, said someone on the farm was burning rubbish and started the grass on fire. Firemen extinguished the blaze before any damage occurred.

An Eastern Air Lines fourengine jetliner with 58 aboard disappeared minutes after takeoff from New Orleans en route to Atlanta and crashed in Lake Pontchartrain. No survivors were reported while Coast Guard crews recovered seats, luggage, clothing and what were described as body parts.

New Voters Show Interest in 1964 Elections
A total of 185 new voters registered in February as interest grows ahead of the 1964 elections. City clerk Mrs. Freda Bray noted 21 registrations during a two hour period from 7 to 9 last night. The registration deadline for the March 10 primary is 5 p.m. tomorrow. Monroe voters will nominate a Republican candidate for the state assembly and choose two of three mayoral candidates for the April 7 ballot.

Aged Hoover Faces Serious Health Setback
New York. Former President Herbert Hoover, 89, has suffered a serious setback in health. A hospital room has been reserved for the ex-president, who lives at the Waldorf Astoria. He has been weakened by anemia from intestinal bleeding and underwent intestinal cancer surgery last August at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center. He has been relatively inactive recently.
