Plane Missing With 16 Aboard From Albuquerque to Santa Fe

A TWA Martin 404 with 16 aboard was an hour and a half overdue on a flight from Albuquerque to Santa Fe New Mexico. The pilot was 7:25 a.m. scheduled to arrive. R B Riordan said the plane had 13 passengers and 3 crew. The aircraft may have landed somewhere unknown as search continues. The Sangre de Cristo mountains were obscured by clouds with scattered snow flurries reported by the weather bureau.

Four Die in Illinois Air Crash Near Springfield

In Sangamon County a twin engined private plane crashed in a muddy field killing three men and a woman. The plane identified as N 67265 belonged to R O Brezeale of Jefferson City Missouri and flew from New River Teza to St Louis via Terre Haute. The Civil Aeronautics Authority labeled it a Cessna T 50. The crash site lay between Bates and Loomis Illinois about 15 miles southwest of Springfield near Loomis hard road and U S Route 36.

Sheridan Ellsworth of Elkhorn Walworth County was elected president of the Southern Wisconsin Education Association at its 64th annual meeting in Madison. Viola Norton was named second vice president, Fred Simpson was re elected to the executive committee, and Gerhard P Steensrud was named vice chairman of the physical education committee.
