Iowa Flier Dies In Mt Horeb Area Plane Crash
A single engine plane piloted by Arthur G. Goetz of Ames crashed on the Joe Effer farm four miles from Mt. Horeb and 13 miles northwest of New Glarus. Goetz, 32, was killed. the wreck was found at 6:40 a.m. by Norton Overland. He had departed Madison at 7:44 p.m. and was due in Iowa City at 9:29 p.m. Investigators said the plane carried baby chicks and left Madison despite bad weather warnings.
