Reynolds Edges Nelson in Wisconsin Delegates Caucuses

Democrats backing Gov Reynolds narrowly lead in three Milwaukee district caucuses for Democratic national convention delegates. Reynolds supporters win two of four delegate posts in the 6th District at West Bend while Nelson backers take four nominations in the 2nd District. Republican slate heads include Rep John Byrnes and Talbot Peterson naming 10 at large candidates for the national convention.

Brotherhood Week observance began yesterday in Green County under James C. Volkert direction. Sponsored nationally since 1934 by the National Conference of Christians and Jews, the program aims to reduce group tensions through educational activities. Arnold Kehrli Stricken at 85

Arnold Kehrli Sr., 85, a Green County cheese maker and New Glarus tavern operator, died at Madison General Hospital after a year of poor health. Born in Switzerland, he arrived in 1900, married Louise Kneubuehl in 1908, and ran a family business for 54 years with his son Arnold W. Surviving wife, daughter, son, sisters, five grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. Services Wednesday at Zentner funeral home with Masonic rites.

Benjamin Krause Dies in Monroe Upholsterer Found Dead

Benjamin C. Krause 65 a Monroe upholstery shop owner for 25 years was found dead in his apartment at 720 Lith street from a coronary occlusion believed to have occurred about 6 Friday evening. He was born in Milton Junction on October 26 1898 and married Marian Golla in 1925 at Waukegan Illinois. Surviving are his wife four brothers and five sisters. Services will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow at Stuessy funeral home with burial in Milton Junction. NAMED OLSON AIDE MADISON J R Schuck was appointed administrative assistant to Lt Gov Jack Olson in a newly created post. The job pays 490 a month.

Supreme Court Ousts Deportation Order for Frank Costello

The Supreme Court overturned a deportation order against Frank Costello, a 71 year old New York gambler. Justice Stewart wrote the 8 2 decision with Justice White dissenting and Justice Harlan Clark not participating. Costello, born in Italy, naturalized in 1925, had naturalization canceled in 1959 for fraud. He was convicted of tax evasion in 1954 and sentenced to two years in prison. A 1961 deportation order followed as an alien convicted of two crimes involving moral turpitude. The U S Circuit upheld the order before Costello appealed claiming his naturalization shielded him.

Green County to Name Outstanding Senior Farmer at Jaycee event

Green County will name its Outstanding Senior Farmer at the annual Jaycee Farmer’s Recognition program set for 8 p.m. Wednesday in Turner Hall. Several certificates for soil conservation work will be presented. Tony Beutler, 32, is the Outstanding Young Farmer, with Otto W. Koerth named Wisconsin’s Outstanding Young Farmer. Marvin Genke and Louis Schuenemann were runners up and third place respectively. William J Klein of Allis-Chalmers will speak at the ceremony.

Wisconsin Queen Crowned At Little International Show

Miss Mauermann a 21 year old Brodhead senior in home economics was named queen of the 1964 Little International Livestock and Horse Show at UW campus Feb 29. Terror Bombing At Saigon Kills Three Americans

In Saigon a bomb attack on a U S movie theater killed three Americans and wounded 51, with nine Vietnamese injured. A ricksha driver is a prime suspect, and witnesses saw at least two terrorists. The attack prompted tightened U S security measures in the capital.

Six More Killed In State Mishaps

Six people died in weekend Wisconsin accidents raising the 1964 toll to 119. Lawrence Madison and Jerome Grajek, both 23, of Waterford were killed when their car hit a tree on Highway 189. James E. Vandeley, 22, of Kaukauna, died when his car struck a culvert in Outagamie County. Keith L. Everts, 21, of Kenosha, was thrown from a truck on an icy county road. Sandra Bolskar, 21, of West Allis, died from injuries after a two car crash northwest of Kenosha. Judge Denies Acquittal Plea As Ruby Trial Opens

In Dallas, Jack Ruby faces a murder trial with defense motion for a directed verdict of acquittal overruled by Judge Joe B Brown. The motion hinged on a January neurological exam.
