Thomas J. Schuetz of Clarno and Monroe Townships earns Green County Outstanding Senior Conservation Farmer and Howard Voegeli of Monticello is named Outstanding Young Farmer at the 11th annual Farmers Recognition Night in Turner Hall. Awards by Monroe Jaycees with Green County Soil and Water Conservation District and Extension Service. Schuetz operates a 237 acre farm with crop rotation, terraces, waterways, wildlife habitat and pasture improvements. Voegeli, partner with his father, advances dairy herd improvement and farm efficiency with UW experimentation and a vaccine program.

Three Rural Schools To Join Monticello District
Three rural districts were approved for attachment to Monticello by the County School Committee. Oak Shade in Mt Pleasant, and Love land in Washington will attach in full to Monticello on June 15. Most of Purcell in Washington also joins Monticello, with a small exclu ded area going to Monroe.
