Platteville State honors 273 students including Monroe area

Platteville State University lists 273 honor roll students for the semester. Eight Monroe residents are named among high and regular honor recipients, with Diane Hartwig receiving high honors in the School of Education English major. Other Monroe names include Judith Bissig Mary Hardyman Nicholas Norgaard Robert Opel Jon Rufenacht and Christie Wittwer. John Beutel from Juda also made the honor roll.

Edward Huber Taken by Death

Edward Huber 58 of 830 9th St. Monroe died at 9 15 last night at St. Clare Hospital after a cerebral hemorrhage. He had been hospitalized since Wednesday and had worked at Bruni Miller. Born June 20 1906 in Lucerne Switzerland he came to Monroe in 1923. Surviving wife a daughter and a son seven grandchildren. Funeral services set for 9 and 9 30 am tomorrow at Stuessy and St Victor's with burial Calvary Cemetery.
