Nixon tells Kremlins on peace duty in world
President Nixon told Kremlin leaders the United States and the Soviet Union have a special responsibility for peace, Izvestia reported. In the Northeast a big weekend storm paralyzed transportation, caused food shortages, and killed at least 57 people from New Jersey to Maine, as snow blocked roads and drifted over routes. In Dallas a 17 year old cheerleader escaped a hostage situation as police killed the captor after 10 hours. The New Jersey to Maine storm halted travel and weighed on commerce.
