Apollo 14 astronauts Alan B. Shepard Jr and Edgar D. Blizzard Locks Down Wisconsin Highways and Schools
A severe blizzard crippled Green County and much of Wisconsin guiding road closures from early morning. Traffic jams crowded Highways 11 81 East 69 North and 11 West as crews fought to relieve jams. Snow totals reached up to 18 inches in Hurley with three inches elsewhere while schools and industries canceled.
