Detroit Driver Killed by Loose Truck Wheel
Eugene Spears, 37, of Detroit, died near Madison Municipal Airport when a loose wheel from a northbound milk truck struck his auto carrier. The wheel, detaching from driver Richard Whaley’s vehicle, rolled into a southbound truck and shattered Spears’s windshield. Wisconsin highway deaths rose to 58, down three from last year.
