Marian Dean Blumer Isely 60 of 606 22nd Ave Monroe died at 5 40 a m Wednesday Dec 24 at St Clare Hospital after long illness. She was admitting clerk at St Clare for four years and ten years total at the hospital. She was previously employed at Mercy Hospital Janesville while the couple lived there. She was born Nov 10 1909 in Monroe, daughter of Fred J and Bessie Cornwall Dean Blumer. She married Clifford B Isely Sept 20 1937 in Dubuque Iowa. Turn to No 1 Back Page.

Monroe Board Extends Crossing Guard for 3 P.M. Rush

The Monroe Board of Education continued a crossing guard at the 9th Street and 16th Avenue crossing for the 3 p.m. rush after a survey showed 28.3 riders then and 22 at 8 a.m. Traffic lights will be installed in two to three months. The board also approved two days of personal leave for teachers within 10 days of sick leave and planned an executive session to discuss negotiations.

Post Office To Be Closed On Friday Too

Monroe Post Office will be closed for two days, Christmas Day and Friday December 26, with no window or carrier deliveries. Holiday lock box and special delivery service will continue. all postal installations nationwide observe the two day closing.
