Winter weather shifts dampen Wisconsin outdoor recreation
Arctic warmth brings rain fog and warm winds reducing snowpack. DNR reports degrade snowmobiling from excellent to poor. some ski hills in the southeast show fair to good but bare bases with little new snow. Hazardous slush ice and risky lake conditions prompt cautions for ice anglers and snowmobilers. hunting remains decent in Jackson County with grouse numbers up near Black River Falls.
