Wiley Sees Budget Cut Up to Citizens
Wisconsin Senator Alexander Wiley warns the public must demand a balanced budget for 1950. He plans a Panama boat trip but contends Congress should cut about 2 billion from administrative agencies and 2 billion from defense, with 1 billion trimmed from foreign aid, to meet budget goals without harming services. He advocates tougher procurement and Hoover-era measures in a broader fiscal plan.
