Cheese Champ Killed in Train Crash near Manitowoc
Edward A. Denor, a Mishicot cheese maker named the most efficient cheesemaker in Wisconsin in 1946, died when his milk tank truck collided with a North Western Railway passenger train seven miles northwest of Manitowoc. The cab was torn off, engulfed under the train, and dragged over a half mile as flames broke out. Denor was reportedly collecting milk from area farms at the time of the accident.
