Six Children Perish in Fire in Portland Duplex
In Portland Maine a duplex fire killed six children five girls and a boy. Fire began around midnight when William F Harrigan spilled oil while lighting a space heater. Harrigan and his wife got three children out. a fourth saved herself but three daughters and two of the state wards died in the blaze.
