Three Injured On County Road In One Car Crash
Three people were injured in a late Saturday one car crash on County Trunk K seven miles south of Juda. Jerry Burns 19 of Roseland Illinois drove the car which struck a bridge. Cherie Elitzer 15 and Walter Elitzer 24 of Juda were hospitalized with injuries. Walter suffered a concussion and head lacerations. Cherie had a fractured leg and lacerations. Burns had chest bruises and was in good condition. Deputies said the car was traveling east and it was demolished.

Green County Board members will attend a Moose Lodge gathering after their regular meeting on Dec 14 at Moose Hall. A plaque naming land judging winners will be presented and housed in the county agricultural building. The Moose sponsor the annual land judging contest. Thieves broke into a Heywood Sunday School on Sunday and stole 60 ballpoint pens. Each pen bore the inscription May the Lord forgive your sins and offending marks. Local police investigated the break in and sought clues.

West Side tavern fire killer faces murder counts
Robert Lee Lassiter admitted using gasoline to set a blaze at the Seeley Club on West Madison Street. Thirteen people died and 22 were injured. Lassiter, 26, was charged with 13 counts of murder after the West Side fire sparked by an argument with waiter Eddie Gaston. Witnesses recalled Lassiter threatening revenge and then buying gasoline to ignite the entrance.

Jule A Remy, 103, Last Frenchtown Settler, Dies
Jule A. Remy, 103, longtime Frenchtown resident two miles northeast of Belleville, died Saturday in his Madison home. Funeral rites were at St Williams Church Paoli with burial in St Raphael's Old French Cemetery. Survived by four sons, four daughters, a sister, nine grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. He arrived in the Belleville area 99 years ago from St Germain France.

Rites Planned for Wis. Senator Jess Miller
Funeral services will be held tomorrow for Republican State Senator Jess Miller of Richland Center. Miller, dean of the Wisconsin Senate, died Saturday after suffering a stroke over a week ago. He had served in the State Senate since 1938.
