R. E. Lindsay 37 Dead After Route 70 Crash Near Durand
Ralph E. Lindsay of 903 21st street died at the wheel after an automobile crash on Route 70 south of Durand at 1 15 this morning. An autopsy at Swedish American hospital Rockford was ordered by Illinois state patrol to determine cause. Lindsay a Navy veteran with World War II convoy duty is survived by his wife Anna Mae Hefty three daughters a son and extended family. Services planned for Tuesday afternoon with burial at Greenwood cemetery.
