Blazes destroy barn and damage Monroe home
Monroe volunteer firefighters fought two overnight blazes in below zero temperatures. A 36 by 54 foot Leitner barn and milk house burned on Rt. 4 in Sylvester Township. about 800 bales of hay and other equipment were lost. The Logeson home at 2116 13th St. suffered extensive fire and smoke damage from a chair fire. Firefighters saved a second barn and milk house, and Juda and Monticello departments assisted.
