North Vietnamese and Viet Cong forces reportedly wrecked a Cambodian battalion and captured a district headquarters 37 miles northeast of Phnom Penh. Pilots could not reach the defenders at Peam Chikang since Sunday amid heavy fighting and losses on both sides.
Bargainers for Ford Motor Co and the United Auto Workers pressed through the night seeking a new three year contract for 166000 workers before midnight. The session began at 11 a.m. Sunday with UAW and Ford staff awaiting a signaling announcement.

Separately, New York taxicab drivers strike impacts 800,000 riders daily.
