Farmers and Astronomer Search For Possible Meteorite
A group of farmers and amateur astronomer Nathan R Roth are digging across the road from Alfred Kuhnke’s farm near Juda to locate a meteorite thought to have landed there. A patrolman reported a bright flash and a crater was found last month. They have dug 11 feet, uncovering rock in a three foot wide, clean-edged hole along the presumed path.

Christmas Salute Honors Guardsmen By Monroe High Band
More than 700 Monroe area residents joined the Monroe High School band in a Christmas Salute tribute to Company B at the Junior High auditorium. The program mixed holiday music, instrumental pieces and marches with encore carols and a salute to the National Guard unit stationed at Fort Lewis. Mayor Orville Evans spoke, Rollins sang, and a special “Company B March” was performed. Funds were requested to send Ken Krattiger on a Europe tour with the U S Band next summer.
