Mr and Mrs Clarence E Hoesly New Glarus celebrated their golden anniversary with an open house November 26 at Swiss United Church of Christ in New Glarus attended by about 200 relatives and friends. Their family assisted with guest greeting and kitchen duties. additional celebrations followed in their community, with multiple local hosts and attendees from several Wisconsin towns. The couple’s relatives and neighbors enjoyed a family supper at Robbie's Yodel Club and a neighborhood coffee at Mrs Cleo Foster's home.

The Winslow Woman's Club hosts an 8 pm Christmas meeting December 14 at the United Methodist Church with the Lena Woman's Club Choir performing and a $1 gift exchange for participants.
