Footville Man Hurt in Two-Car Crash in Rock County
A Footville man and seven others were injured in a two car crash two miles east of Brodhead on Highway 11. Daniel Murphy sustained a crushed chest and fractures and was rushed to St. Clare hospital in extremely critical condition. His passenger Marie Welle suffered scalp lacerations and neck injury but was listed in satisfactory condition. Eight people total were injured including six girls aged 16 to 6 in the Mauermann car. The crash occurred near Everson's Corners as the Mauermann auto headed east and the Murphy car south on a township road.

Exam for Police Chief To Be Given Tomorrow
Rodney O Kittelsen, chair man of the police and fire commission, said the commission will meet at 1 15 p m tomorrow to certify applications for Monroe police chief. The meeting will be in City Hall just before an examination period for applicants at 1 30 p m.
