A mysterious explosion at Nell's Restaurant on 232 Main St yesterday at 5 30 p m damaged windows in Nell's and two neighboring businesses Benedict's Dry Cleaning and Sleep's Drug Store. No injuries were reported though two patrons and two employees were present. Investigators could not determine a cause and a gas truck nearby was not confirmed as the source.

Walter Streiff Retires as Tri-State Official at Green County Meeting
At the Green County Agricultural Building the Tri-State Breeders Co operative annual meeting named Walter Streiff of New Glarus as retiree area director after nine years of service. He received luggage from members and technicians as a retirement honor.
