A delegation from the Amish Settlement informed New Glarus Public School Administrator Ken Glewen that about 35 to 40 Amish children would not attend New Glarus Schools this year and would start their own schools within two weeks. Registration is set for tomorrow with classes starting Thursday. The Amish favor education through 8th grade and may need state directives to determine enforcement of age and schooling requirements.
