Two Minneapolis men Gerald Singer 22 and Earl Bruce 24 were jailed on suspicion of armed robbery and Donald Hodgman 23 hospitalized with a stomach wound after police fired on their car during a holdup chase. Officers Heffron and McLaughlin stopped the vehicle five miles west of the city. Hodgman was wounded in the abdomen and Hodgman’s back was struck as a tire was shot out. the trio surrendered after a warning shot.

Cpl Jerrold B Brown of Freeport was charged with reckless driving after a 1:09 am crash at 13th street and 23rd avenue. Harold Halverson and other passengers, all discharged veterans, sustained injuries including a brain concussion. Vehicle damage exceeded 400 dollars. Halverson’s condition improved by noon. Brown drove a 1939 Chevrolet owned by Harlow Rathburn.
