Woman loses divorce bid as husband wins absolute decree

Judge E Paul Mason granted an absolute divorce to Christian A Dresch of Baltimore while dismissing Jeanne I Dresch's suit. She argued the Wisconsin farmhouse lacked central heating and water, but the judge said the husband was the aggrieved party for leaving city life.

Coal and Oranges Up But Meat Back To June 30 Level

The OPA raises coal and orange ceilings and signals meat prices will return to June 30 levels when controls resume Sept. 9. Lamb prices are set to average at least five cents higher per pound, due to the subsidy decision not to revive lamb aid. Meat subsidies for cattle and hogs will resume at the June 29 rate, as authorized by the price decontrol board.

Monroe Youth Probated For Car Theft Sent To State School

A 15-year-old Monroe boy, placed on probation July 31 after pleading guilty to stealing a car, was ordered to the Wisconsin Industrial School for Boys at Waukesha for violation of probation. He was arrested July 29 in Freeport with another youth for taking a car from Forrest L. Kubly of Juda at Recreation Park. He will remain at Waukesha until age 21 unless paroled or discharged. He had earlier violated probation and was returned to Monroe from Dubuque by the Green County sheriff's department.

New Housing Rule Pushes Homes and Construction Plans

Washington D. C. Wyatt outlined a housing campaign shift toward materials for residences, proposing a 30 to 50 percent cut in nonresidential building. Milwaukee AP report notes Mayor Dominic Olejniczak of Green Bay won the chicken-picking contest at the Wisconsin state fair in an event that showcased poultry day. Mayors Francis Wendt Racine W. H.
