Portable Tubs Exhibit Recounts Early Bathing Alternatives
The display compares a wood grain painted metal tub typical of barber shops and wayside inns with a tin Churchill tub from Monroe. The Churchill model features a back spout, leather seat, and built in soap dish. Found during building renovations, the tub was donated by Donald Pfister and the museum invites weekend visitors with weekday appointments available through curators.
