Elmer Brothers Dairy Farm Implements Erosion Control Plan
Rolland and Hubert Elmer operate a 396 acre dairy farm in New Glarus Township. Their soil conservation measures include 186 acres of contour strip cropping, 4600 feet of grassed waterways with 2100 feet planned, 450 feet of eroding streambank reshaping and riprap, five earthen dams, 46 acres fenced out for timber, seven acres set for wildlife with tree and shrub plantings and 1000 feet of Multiflora Rose. Wet soils now support higher production with 10000 feet of tile.
