Uniform July Milk Price Set for Southern Wisconsin Deliveries
A $3.66 per hundredweight blended price for July milk deliveries to Chicago area dairies will be paid under the federal order, up from $3.34 in June. Officials cite a sharp drop in local production, with Green County dairy leaders noting unusually low output for the season. Some farmers echo that only those who fed silage and grain stayed on track, while pasture-reliant producers report halved output. past peak June gives way to November declines. Condenser prices linked to dairy delivery costs are expected to rise, and Pet Milk Co in Belleville shifts to fluid milk for Chicago, with butter also likely to increase from 75.5 cents.
