Three accidents claimed seven lives today raising Wisconsin's 1970 highway fatality to 689, up from 656 a year ago. An I-90 crash south of Portage killed three. Milton A. Barach of Chicago and his 35-year-old wife died in a separate car crash.

Blue Ribbons Returning Home From Wisconsin State Fair

Green County dairy exhibitors returned with blue ribbons at the 120th Wisconsin State Fair in Milwaukee where Holstein judging drew a record 605 entries. Beloit Burglary Arrest Sparks Crowd Scuffle

A police chase of a burglary suspect in Beloit led to a pre-dawn melee with about 300 spectators, causing vandalism and several arrests. The suspect, armed with shotguns, arson and theft charges, was subdued with tear gas outside a sporting goods store as a crowd fought police and each other. Police reported minor injuries to four officers and extensive property damage including store windows and a department store awning.
