Six Teachers Start First Year In Albany System
Six new teachers are contracted for Albany schools opening Monday August 29. A teachers workshop runs Wednesday to Friday. Bus service and hot lunch program will operate. New staff include agriculture teacher Robert Heffernan and home economics Lucy Cooper, science James Thracker, librarian Margaret Leibig, and many others across elementary junior high and special education.

Colleen Dunphy Hurt in Mishap Near Albany
Miss Colleen Dunphy 18 of Albany suffered facial injuries when the car she rode in struck an Angus steer on County Trunk E three miles north of Albany. She was taken to St. Clare Hospital in good condition today. The driver’s name was not available. Another accident at 6 40 am on Highway 69 north of Monroe involved a car driven by Richard Campbell of Monticello. it rolled over but the driver was unhurt.
