Bruni-Miller Co of Monroe began rebuilding the Biggs cheese factory, destroyed June 14 by an early morning fire. The 44 by 108 foot concrete block structure, costing about 25 thousand dollars, will include a 12 kettle making room a furnace room and a cellar with a future residence. Construction should finish in about 60 days. Lawrence Winger of Argyle is president of the Biggs coop Gottfried Wirtz remains cheesemaker. The plant sits on County Trunk A about five miles northeast of Argyle.

Fire alarm blamed on interrupted line in downtown
Acting Fire Chief Josef J. Benkert said there was no fire when the whistle blew about 10 30 am today only an accidental interruption of the line. He noted Wisconsin Power and Light Co workers on 9th street near The Evening Times building called in and may have caused the interruption during their work. He added an interruption makes origin impossible to pinpoint and the whistle cannot be turned off for more than a minute even with no fire present.
