Dread polio hit six of eight children in brick worker Donald De Mars family in Los Angeles. Three year old Richard and 10 year old Donald on respirators at Los Angeles General Hospital. The U S communicable disease center alerted doctors nationwide about malaria among returned Korean veterans. 52 state and territorial health officers were informed by Dr. R A Vonderlehr to report all cases promptly to maintain freedom from endemic malaria. In areas with anopheline mosquitoes, long lasting insecticides should be used within a mile of the patient. In Arkansas 79 cases and in Mississippi seven cases were reported.

Search Continues For Girl and Man in Fair Disappearance
District Attorney Rodney O Kittelsen said leads are being checked in the disappearance of a 15 year old Monroe girl and a concession worker from the Green County Fair. A warrant was issued for M T OBrien the name used by the worker who is believed to have disappeared with the girl. OBrien is thought to be 42 years old. He used several aliases and his correct name is unknown. The couple likely stayed in Dubuque Sunday night under a different name.

The state of Wisconsin acquires deeds for the Zander lake property near Browntown from Mrs. Mary Trickel and J H Leg and two children in Omani.
