Rainfall ruins record hopes at Green County Fair
The Green county fair was rained out on Sunday after a day of heats, slick mud, and fading crowds. Saturday drew 12 400 in paid admissions while Friday had 7 397, with total attendance for the fair nearing 8 948 paid single admissions yesterday. Directors will review horse judging placings as some winners may be shifted.

Mrs Proctor 55 Dies at Maywood
Mrs Raymond Proctor aged 55 died yesterday at 1 30 pm in the home of Miss Ida Proctor in Maywood Illinois after a six month illness. She was born Pearl Wallace of Indiana and married Raymond Proctor in 1918. The couple lived in Rensselaer Indiana before moving to Wisconsin in 1948 and have resided in Brodhead the past year. Surviving are her husband two sons Harold Maywood and Dwight Brodhead and three grandchildren, four children preceded her in death. Funeral services and burial will be in Morris City Illinois Wednesday morning.

A car driven by Frank H. Burridge of Wallace Shows crashed into the Louis J. Felder home on highway 69 near the city edge at 10 last night. Burridge, with passenger Tommy Willis of Atlanta, Ga., was reportedly lacking a valid license and posted a $10 bond. the impact damaged the front room as Mrs. Felder was preparing for bed. Burridge claimed Missouri registration for a 1948 car and said renewal was sent to Alabama. The judge dismissed the license charge earlier today. Burridge intends to contact his insurer regarding the property damage.

About 15 000 spectators watched firefighters from Jackson West Bend Germantown and Grafton fight the blaze which destroyed the wing in 45 minutes with no injuries reported. Loss estimated at 300 000 including two tractors two trucks and a pea processing shed. Cause was not immediately known.
