The City Council created a five member Airport Commission to govern the airport with the Monroe Mayor an alderman and three citizens appointed for one year from May 1. The council annexed 39 acres owned by Christine Belle Elliott north of Monroe for light industrial zoning and a Seventh Ward area, with conditions pending verification. Public hearings are set for September 1 on Mrs Ekum’s 8.91 acre annexation and 20 acre rezoning near St Clare Hospital. The Cheese Days Committee may sell buttons and use a pep band August 7 for Cheese Days on September 19–20. Bids may be sought for 24 000 square yards of slurry seal for streets. Payments approved to Bituminous Materials for 1969–70 work and to Hyland Hall for city hall and police station air conditioning. Park Board Trust Fund Board appointment confirmed. Various licenses issued including electrical contractors and journeyman electricians, junk dealers and operators. A Class B Retailer's picnic license was granted to the Republican Party for the August 16 fairgrounds event.
