Approval Denial Seen at Hearing on District Detach Attach
A Juda to Monroe district detachment petition was approved while another was denied. Paul Gruenberg was approved for attachment as his land joins Monroe district. John Bauman’s land would not join and create an island. Marilyn Gruenberg will attend Monroe High School as a sophomore this Fall. The hearing was conducted by Agency School Committee No. 15 at Juda High School.

Funeral services for Gloria L. Johnson 21, Platteville State University senior, killed in a car crash will be held 11 a.m. Monday at Grace Lutheran Church. Lulloff Funeral Home will receive the body after 2 p.m. tomorrow. Johnson died when the car left Highway 151 near Dodgeville, the vehicle reportedly rolled several times. Driver James Aide 21 of Dodgeville was hospitalized, later transferred to Madison General. Johnson is survived by her parents Ruben and (Mrs.) Johnson, a brother Roland, and grandmothers Mrs. Anna Johnson and Mrs. Maude Retrum, both of Dodgeville.

Franz Strebel of Bunzen Canton Aargau Switzerland spends three weeks with Mr and Mrs Alfred Meier across from Monroe Airport after two days at Expo 67. Strebel is a landscape gardener and his wife runs the business in his absence. They plan a six week return visit starting Sept 9. Also visiting were the Harbicks from Marquette Michigan en route home after a Lake Michigan trip. A white robin sighting in Browntown drew comment from Mrs Cora Beck.
