Oscar Davis 80 of Argyle died at 6 a m in his Argyle home after months of illness. Born December 17 1869 he farmed the Yellowstone homestead later managed by son Paul. He married Christine Hansen February 27 1901 in Blanchardville Lutheran church. He leaves a large family and is to be buried in Woodlawn cemetery after services at Argyle Lutheran church.

Sparta Man Hurt As Tank Truck Leaves Roadside
Robert P. Endres a 20 year old Sparta driver sustained a head bump and hip pain when a tank truck left Highway 11 seven miles west of Monroe near the Mathew Nall farm struck a tree and damaged the front end. He was taken to a Monroe physician for treatment. The crash damaged a fence and the truck owned by Rein and Shultz Madison was towed to the Browntown construction camp.

Fire officials cited an explosion in the loft as the likely cause as flames destroyed hay and equipment while neighbors aided with water and prevented spread to a nearby garage containing gasoline drums. Navy Gasoline Tanker Delivers Fuel to Formosa Airfields
The U S navy tanker Cimarron arrived at Keelung harbor escorted by three American warships with a full fuel load for planes guarding Formosa against invasion.
