Lloyd C. Martin Dies at 72 Former Bank Employee
Lloyd C. Martin 72 retired cashier of the First National Bank of Blanchardville died at 4 25 p m Saturday in St Clare Hospital where he had been a medical patient since the previous Monday He had been ill for months Born March 1 1893 in Argyle Township Lafayette County he worked in rural schools and served in World War I He later lived in Oregon before moving to Wisconsin in 1927 He joined the First National Bank of Blanchardville in 1947 retiring in 1964 He was a member of Yellowstone Lutheran Church and the Blanchardville American Legion He is survived by his wife two sisters and a brother Funeral services will be held at Yellowstone Lutheran Church with burial in Yellowstone Cemetery.

A Madison, Wisconsin couple aged 72 and 77 postponed their attempt on Mount of the Holy Cross in Colorado due to stormy cold weather. They began peak climbing on their honeymoon 45 years ago and, after inspecting the peak Sunday, decided the conditions were too severe to proceed.
